140 The commentary of al-Qa si dah It is a wonderful thing that our master the Holy Prophet (may peace and blessings of All a h be upon him) was given miracles and signs that were not limited to his age but are continuous until the Day of Judgement. In previous times, when someone became a prophet, he was not considered from the ummah of the previous prophet, although he aided the prior prophet’s religion and believed it to be true. On the other hand, the Holy Prophet (may peace and blessings of All a h be upon him) was granted the special blessing that he became Kh a tamul-Anbiy a,’ [ Seal of the Prophets ]; on one hand the qualities of prophethood were perfected in him and on the other hand there is no prophet who can bring a new law and come from outside his Ummah. Every person who achieves communication with God is only granted this through the blessings of the Holy Prophet sa and he is called a follower and not an independent prophet.
