The commentary of al-Qa si dah 115 In other words, now they have balanced the spending of their money in both of these conditions. In the times of ignorance, the whole of Arabia was engulfed in idol worshipping, intoxication, cheating, killing and looting. Idol worship was so prevalent that every tribe had its own idol. There were 360 idols inside the Ka‘bah. The Quraish considered idol worship a matter of life and death. The Holy Qur’ a n states that these people would say: If we accept Islam and give up idol worship then we have no place of protection on this earth. ( al-Qa s a s, 28:58 ) However, idol worshipping was removed from the land of Arabia in such a manner that for 1,400 years it has not been able to return. The concept of Oneness of God became so firmly established in their blood that they accepted and embraced all types of tortures and cruelties for the sake of their religion. The non-believers at one time arrested Hadrat Khubaib ra.
