104 The commentary of al-Qa si dah The condition of the nation of Moses as or the Israelites was such that in his lifetime when they saw another idol worshipping nation they said: Make for us a god just as this nation has gods other than All a h. ( al-A‘r a f , 7:139 ) When Moses as left them for a few days, they started worshipping a calf. In the same manner the followers of Jesus as after a very short time became involved in shirk and started to worship Jesus as himself. However, the spiritual powers of the Holy Prophet sa and his pure soul were able to give life to a people who were dead for centuries. The world witnessed a remarkable revolution. The Arabian continent, which knew nothing other than idol worshipping, turned to the worship of One God within a short period of time. The Holy Prophet sa taught the lesson of Oneness of God to his followers in such a manner that they could never forget it. Day and night they continually proclaimed atop the minarets of their mosques, “There is no one worthy of worship save All a h. ” In essence, the life that was given to the nation of Arabia by the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa , the perfect one, has no match in any other nation or country.
