123 him? The answer the person gave to him was indeed very beautiful. He replied: ‘Why do you ask me? Go and ask him about how the Promised Messiah as was and see what he has to say in this regard; but he calls himself a humble servant of Mirza and so you can infer for yourself what the Promised Messiah as must have been like. ’ So among the obligations that we hold most important, one is to preserve the biography and life history of the Promised Messiah as for future generations. It is very important for us to follow the ultimate example of excellence set by the Holy Prophet sa , and then by his most true servant the Promised Messiah as. That is why it is highly important to set down the life history of the Promised Messiah as. Anyone who remembers some incident related to him should put it down and send that to me. We have been assigned this huge task, and we must accomplish it. I have already appointed a person to enquire from people and note down the experiences they had in this regard. The person has already started the job. Should someone amongst you recall any incident, he should put it in writing and send it to me so that all such incidents are compiled in one place and published, thereby getting preserved forever. There are still many among us, who have seen the Promised Messiah as and sat in his company, and who are able to narrate many incidents about him; but as the number of these people will decrease, it will become increasingly difficult to have sound knowledge about his life. Therefore, this task must be accomplished as soon as possible.
