Footnote Number Eleven 129 رنَوَد دبر ات وتیتسہ اتز رنَوَد رب وت دل از رشک مخت Unless your ego leaves you, The seed of idolatry in your heart will not depart. رنَوَد رت دنلب ت ع�ی� � اپےئ رنَوَد رسب ِ دل دود رتا ات The steps of your efforts will not move forward Until the smoke of your heart—your arrogance—ceases to exist. اگنہم دراں وشد �ی�دا چ � �ی�ار اہنں زوخد ہب امتم ى وت رگد ہك The Beloved will manifest Himself at the time When you distance yourself from your ego. زوسز و مغ رنیہ ى ات ہن وسز رنیہ مہ ومت ز ى م�ی�ر ن � ات Unless you first burn yourself out, you will not deliver yourself from burning passions and grief. Unless you first die, you will not liberate yourself from the clutches of death. وسنتخ ہك آں رہ زہ اجن و نت ت �چ� یس� وسنتخ ہك آشت ادنر دےل زبن Of what use are the worthless bodies and souls that are not burning [in the pangs of separation]; Hurl into the fire such a heart that suffers not from grief ! ربابد ن ں ُ �بِک وخد ٔ مسج ہبلک آابد دخا از رگدد یمن وچں Demolish the hovel of your body If the remembrance of God does not dwell in it. ش � ی � اپےئ وخد را دجانک از نت وخ ش � ی � چ � دصاتق رےہ گ�ی�رد ن � وچں Sever your feet from your body, If they tread not the path of truth.
