( Tirmidh i vol. 2, Abw a bul- Man a qib B a bo Man a qib-e-‘Umar ra ). Our opponents argue that according to this h ad i th since Hadrat ‘Umar ra lived after the Holy Prophet sa and did not become a Prophet, therefore, prophethood has ended. It is to be noted that after recording this h ad i th , Im am Tirmidh i observed that it should fall in the category of ‘ h asanun ghar i bun ’—authenticity of this h ad i th is ques- tionable. It is handed down by one narrator, Mishra h bin H a ‘ a n. At-Tahdh i b At-Tahdh i b, an authentic work of research about the narrators, includes a note about H a ‘ a n in volume 10, page 155: Ibn Hayy a n states:. . . He (Mishra h bin H a ‘ a n) was among the weak narrators of h ad i th. He is not to be relied upon.
