PRAYERS 92 fruits of this town. Infuse our love in the hearts of its inhabitants and inculcate love for its pious people in our hearts. Prayers for Recitation at Dawn and Dusk Hadrat ‘Abdull a h bin Mas‘ u d ra relates that the Holy Prophet sa used to recite this prayer at dawn: ْ ْ اَﺻ ْ ﺒَﺤ ُْ ﻨَﺎ وَاَﺻ ْ ﺒَﺢ َ امل َْ ﻠ ْ ک ُ ﻟِﻠªّٰ ِ ،وَاحل ْ ﻤ ﺪ ُ ﻟِﻠªّٰ ِ ،و َ ﻻ َ اِﻟªٰ َ اِﻻَّاﷲ ُ وَﺣ ﺪَہ َ ْ ﻻ ﺷَﺮِﻳ کَ ﻟªَ ُْ ْ ،ﻟªَُ امل َْ ﻠ ْ کُ،وَﻟªَُ احل َْ ﻤ Õ ُِّﻞL ٰ_َ2 َﺪُ،وَﻫُﻮ ْ ْ ءٍ ﻗَﺪِﻳ رَبِّ اَﺳ ،ٌﺮ َ َْ ﺎَﻟُک ِ ﺧَري ىف ْﻣَﺎ ْ ﻫٰﺬَا اﻟ َْ ﻴَﻮ ْ مِ وَﺧَري ﺑَﻌ ﻣَﺎ ﺪَہ ْ ْ ،وَاَﻋُﻮ ِْذُﺑِکَ ﻣِﻦ ىف ْﺷَﺮِّ ﻣَﺎ اﻟ ْ ﻫٰﺬَا َ ﻴَﻮ ْ مِ و ﺷَﺮ ِّ ﻣَﺎ ﺑَﻌ ﺪَہ ْ ْ ، رَب ِّ اَﻋُﻮ ذُﺑِک َ ﻣِﻦ َ اﻟکَﺴَﻞ ِ وَﺳُﻮ ْء ِ اﻟکِربَِ، َ رَب ِّ اَﻋُﻮ ْ ذُﺑِک ْﻣِﻦ ِْ 2َﺬَابٍ ىفِ اﻟﻨَّﺎرِ و2ََﺬَابٍ ىفِ اﻟ ﻘَرب. 180 We entered into dawn and the whole country entered into it for the sake of God. All praise belongs to God. There is none worthy of worship except Him. He is One and has no partner. To Him belongs the sovereignty and all praise befits Him. He has might over everything. O my Lord, I beseech You to grant me goodness of this day and also blessings afterwards. I seek refuge in You from the mischief of this day and evil afterwards. O my Lord, I seek shelter from the evils of lethargy and aging. O my Sustainer, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the Fire and the torment of the grave. The Holy Prophet sa used to say the same prayer at dusk by changing the word "dawn" to the word "dusk:" ْ ْ اَﻣﺴَ[ ُْ ﻨَﺎ وَاَﻣ ْ º َ امل َْ ﻠ ْ ک ُ ﻟِﻠªّٰ ِ وَاحل ْ ﻤ ﺪ ُ ﻟِﻠªّٰ ِ وَﻻ َ اِﻟªٰ َ اِﻻ َّ اﷲ ُ وَﺣ ﺪَہ ْ َ ﻻ َ ﺷَﺮِﻳ ک ﻟªَ ُْ ْ ،ﻟªَ ُ امل َْ ﻠ ْ ک ُ وَﻟªَُ احل َْ ﻤ Õ ِّ ُﻞL ٰ_َ2 َﺪ ُ وَﻫُﻮ ْ ْ ء ٍ ﻗَﺪِﻳ َْ ﺮٌ،رَب ِّ اَﺳ ِ ﺎَﻟُک َ ﺧَري ٰﻣَﺎ ىف ْ ﻫ َْ ﺬِہ ِ اﻟﻠَّﻴ ْ ﻠَﺔ ِ وَﺧَري ْﻣَﺎ ﺑَﻌ ْ ﺪَﻫَﺎ ،وَاَﻋُﻮ ِْذُﺑِک َ ﻣِﻦ ٰﺷَﺮ ِّ ﻣَﺎ ىف ْ ﻫ ِّ ﺬِہ ِ اﻟﻠَّﻴ ْ ﻠَﺔ ِ وَﺷَﺮ ﻣَﺎﺑَﻌ ْﺪَﻫَﺎ، َ رَب ِّ اَﻋُﻮ ْ ذُﺑِک ْﻣِﻦ َ اﻟکَﺴَﻞ ِ وَﻣِﻦ ْ ﺳُﻮ ْ ء ِ اﻟ َ کِربَِ، رَب ِّ اَﻋُﻮ ذُﺑِک
