PRAYERS 73 submission. O moon, Your Lord and my Lord is All a h. May this moon be the moon of goodness and prosperity. May it be moon of goodness, and prosperity. May it be be the moon goodness and prosperity. I believe in All a h , Who created you. The Holy Prophet sa also used to say this prayer on seeing the new moon: ّٰ ٍ اَﻟﻠ َّﻬُﻢَّ ﺑَﺎرِکْ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ىف ِْ رَﺟَﺐ و ﺷَﻌْﺒَﺎنِ وَﺑَﻠِّﻐْﻨَﺎ رَﻣَﻀَﺎنَ. 126 “O All a h ! Pour blessings on us in the month of Rajab and Sha‘b a n and enable us to reach the month of Rama da n. ” Prayers for Breaking the Fast Hadrat Mu‘ a dh bin Zuhrah ra relates that the Holy Prophet sa used to recite this prayer at the time of breaking the fast: ْ ٰ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢَّ ﻟَکَ ﺻُﻤ _َ2َﺖُ و ْ ْرِز ْ ﻗِکَ اَﻓ ُ ﻄَﺮ ت. 127 O All a h , I fasted for You and break the fast with the food given by You. Hadrat ‘Amr bin Al-‘ As ra relates that he heard the Holy Prophet sa say that the time of breaking the fast, is the time of acceptance of supplications. He used to pray in these words: ِ ِّْ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ ا ْىن َ اَﺳ ﺎَﻟُک َ ﺑِﺮ ْ ﺣ ﻤﺘ ِْ ْاﻟَّىت ْوَﺳِﻌَﺖ َء ٍ اَنÕ َّ ُﻞLْ ِْ ﺗَﻐ ْﻔِﺮَىل ِْ ذُﻧُﻮ ىب. 128 O All a h , I beseech You in the name of Your all encompassing mercy to forgive my sins. Prayer of Night of Destiny (Lailatul-Qadr) Hadrat ‘ A ’ishah ra asked the Holy Prophet sa as to which prayer she should recite if she finds the Lailatul- Qadr the Holy Prophet sa said:
