Prayers of Sajdah-e-Til a wat When the instruction of sajdah occurs in the Holy Qur’ a n , prostration should be done. Wu du (ablution) is not obligatory nor is facing the Ka‘bah. In prostration besides the words of glorification of God, repetition of these prayers is recorded in the traditions. ْ ِْ ﺳَﺠَﺪَ وَﺟ Æِ ْ ﻟ ﻠَّﺬِی ﺧَﻠَﻘªَ َْ وَﺷَﻖَّ مس ﻌªَ  وَ ﺑَﺼَﺮَہ ْ حبَِﻮ ﻟªِ  وَ ﻗُﻮَّﺗªِ. 123 My face is in prostration for the Being, Who created it and with His special Divine power and strength bestowed upon me the faculty of hearing and seeing. ْ ْ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ اک ِْﺘُﺐ ْىل ْ ﺑِﻬَﺎ ﻋِﻨ ْ ﺪَک َ اَﺟ ِّْﺮًا و َ ﺿَﻊ ْﻋَىن َّ ﺑِﻬَﺎ وِز ْ رًا و ْ اﺟ ِْ ﻌَﻠ ْﻬَﺎ ىل ْ ﻋِﻨ ْ ﺪَکَ ذُﺧ وَّﺗَﻘَﺒَّﻠ ﺮًا ِّْ ْﻬَﺎﻣِىن ْ کَﻤَﺎﺗَﻘَﺒَّﻠ ْﺘَﻬَﺎﻣِﻦ ﻋَﺒ ﺪِکَ دَاو  دَ. 124 O All a h , grant me (by virtue of this prostration) a reward, and make it the means of lessening my burden. Store it as a reward for me and accept this prostration from me as You accepted the prostration of Your servant David. Prayer on Seeing the New Moon Hadrat T al h ah bin ‘Ubaidull a h ra and Hadrat Qat a dah ra relate that this was the Holy Prophet sa 's prayer on seeing the new moon: اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ اَﻫِﻠªَّ ْ [َ2َﻠ ْ ِْ ﻨَﺎ ﺑِﺎﻻَْﻣ َْ ﻦ ِ وَاﻻ مي ِْ ﺎن ِ وَاﻟﺴَّﻼَﻣَﺔ ِ وَا ْ ﻻ ﺳ ِّْ َﻼَم ِ رَىب ٍْ و ْ رَﺑُّک َ اﷲ ُ ،ﻫِﻼَل ُ ﺧَري ٍْو َّ رُﺷ ْ ﺪٍ،ﻫِﻼَل ُ ﺧَري ٍْو َّ رُﺷ ْ ﺪٍ،ﻫِﻼَل ُ ﺧَري و َّ رُﺷ ْﺪٍ، ْ اٰﻣَﻨ ﺖُ ﺑِﺎﷲِ اﻟَّﺬِی ﺧَﻠَﻘَکَ. 125 Our All a h , make this moon ascend on us while we are in the state of peace, safety, belief and
