PRAYERS 127 O All a h , the Lord of seven heavens and the Lord of the exalted Throne. O our Lord, and Lord of everything. Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel and the Qur’ a n. O the One Who cleaves the seed and the core, I seek Your shelter from the evil of everything as You alone prevail over it. You are the First and there was nothing before You. You are the Last and there will be nothing after You. You are manifest and there is nothing beyond You. You are hidden as well and there is nothing unknown to You. You Yourself relieve me of the burden of debt and free me from poverty. Prayer on Visiting a Patient Hadrat ‘ A ’ishah ra relates that whenever someone from the family of the Holy Prophet sa was not well, he would recite this prayer: ْ ْ اَذ ْ ﻫِﺐ ِ اﻟ ْ ﺒَﺄس َ ،رَب َّ اﻟﻨَّﺎسِ،وَاﺷ َ ﻒ ِ اَﻧ ﺖ َ اﻟﺸَّﺎىف ِ ﻻَﺷِﻔَﺎء َ اِﻻ َّ ﺷِﻔَﺎ ﺋُک ﺷِﻔَﺎءً ﻻَ ﻳُﻐَﺎدِرُ ﺳَﻘَﻤًﺎ. 252 O Lord of mankind, remove this illness. Restore health as You are the Healer. There is no one else who can cure. Grant such perfect health which leaves not a single ailment behind. Invocation for Health in Illness Hadrat Ab u Sa‘ i d Khudr i ra relates that the angel Gabriel as came to the Holy Prophet sa and enquired from him, if he was not feeling well. On his reply in the affirmative, angel Gabriel as recited these words and blew on him: ْ ْ ﺑِﺴ ْ ﻢ ِ اﷲ ِ اَر ْ ﻗِﻴ ْ ک َ وَاﷲُ ﻳَﺸ ْ ﻔِﻴ َْکَ ﻣِﻦ Õ ُِّﻞL ُ ْ ءٍ ﻳ ْ ﺆ ْ ذِﻳ ْکَ وَﻣِﻦ ُﻞِّ ﻧَﻔL ِّﺷَﺮ ٍ ٍْ ﺲ ْ و2ََّني ْﺣَﺎﺳِﺪَةٍ اَﷲُ ﻳَﺸ ْ ﻔِﻴ ْ کَ ﺑِﺴ ْ ﻢِ اﷲِ اَر َ ﻗِﻴ ک. 253
