N۔2952-H (G) 42/26395 Dated 27۔4۔1942 From F۔B۔Wace Esquire, C۔I۔E۔, I۔C۔S۔Home Secretary to Government Punjab۔Te Khalifatul Masih Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad Head of the Ahmadiyya Community Qadian Disst, Gurdaspur۔Your Holiness, The Punjab Government have bød under examination the incident in Dalhousie last September at your residence there, when certain action was taken by the police in connection with unauthoris- ed news sheets۔Owing to achain of unfortunate circumstances, no superior police officer was available in Dalhousie, to take charge of this action and enquiry seems to show that the junior officer who was in charge displayed a lack of tact and consideration in carrying out his duties۔Suitable action has been taken against this officer and the subordinate officials concerned and I am to express the great regret of the Punjab Government for any unnecessary inconvenience which may have been caused to you and your household in consequence۔It need hardly be said that no kind of insult or indignaty was intented to you personally or to the religious body of which you are the respected head۔I have the honour to he Your holiness Your most obedient servent Sdf- F۔B۔Wace Home Secretary to Government Punjab۔
