BASIC ARABIC LESSONS. The Types of Speech. GRAMMAR (Kalimah) A single word which conveys some meaning. The K. Kalimah is of five types: (Ism; Noun) Name of a thing; it is independent in its meaning, e. g. Jás (rajulun) Man, ♬ (New York). رَجُلٌ (Fil; Verb) It is a word which explains an action done in present, past or future, e. g. J (fa'ala) He did.
