سكتر (Sin) or (Saktah):. Without re-breathing give a short pause and then continue the recitation of the. Holy Qur'an. . Conventionally it means to stop at a word for the duration normally a person takes to breath with the intention to continue the recitation. . While doing waqf you should act upon the rules mentioned here under the title, "Ramūz-e-Auqāf". If you do waqf on a stop sign then you should resume recitation from the next word.
