8 In the year 1882, while he was busy writing, Hazrat Ahmad as saw in a vision that the Holy Prophet Muhammad saw embraced him. He felt as if bright rays were emanating from the face of the Holy Prophet saw and entering into his own body. This vision was followed by a revelation: َ َ رَمٰى، الرَّحْمٰن ُ عَلَّم ہللا َّ ِن ک ُ فِيْكَ، مَا رَمَيْت َ إذ ْ رَمَيْت َ وَل ہللا َ ْ يَا أحْمَد ُ بَارَك الْقُرْآنَ، لِتُنْذِر َ قَومًا مَّا أُنْذِر َ آبَاؤهُمْ، وَلِتَسْتَبِيْن َ سَبِيْل ُ الْمُجْرِمِيْنَ. قُل ْ إنِّى أُمِرْت ُ وَأنَا أوَّل ُ الْمُؤمِنِيْنَ. Allah has placed blessing in you, O Ahmad. Whatever you did let loose, it was not you but it was Allah who let it loose. Allah has taught you the Quran so that you should warn the people whose ancestors have not been warned, and that the way of the guilty ones might become man- ifest. Say: ‘I have been commissioned and I am the first of the believers. ’ It was with this revelation that he was commissioned by God to reform the world and was told that he was indeed the Messiah that had been promised to the world. On the 12th of January 1889, he established the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at. Incidentally, this was the date of birth of the Promised Son, Mirza Bashir-ud-Din
