Cleanliness of the clothes. 3. Cleanliness of the place where S al a t is to be offered. 4. Covering the private parts. 5. Facing the Qiblah. 6. Making the intention to offer S al a t but only in the heart, not by the tongue. Ark a n of S al a t [Components of Prayers] 1. Saying ُ َہّٰللُّٰ ا َ کۡبَر ا [ All a hu Akbar —Allah is the Greatest] in the beginning of S al a t. This is called takb i r-e-te h r i mah. 2. Standing up, which is called Qiy a m. 3. Qir’at, meaning reciting some parts of the Word of Allah [the Holy Quran].
