Death of Hazrat ‘ Ī s ā as bin Mariam ra 201 died but he shall be sent back after resurrection. This is why he did not say “ اdَّWFَآء a َ Gِن a Hَازِل ” ([‘ Ī s ā as shall] descend from heaven). Instead, he used the word خارج (he shall appear). 215 Based on this logical understanding of the had ī th , it is impossible to assume that it speaks of the life of Hazrat ‘ Ī s ā as. The Holy Qur’ ā n declares him dead and so does the above had ī th! Finally, Farhan Khan says, “The only way that Muhammad sa could no longer be the last Prophet is if one of two things were to occur: The first occurrence would be if a new Prophet came after Muhammad sa and claimed finality. Ahmad ī [Muslim]s will claim this has happened with the coming of Mirz ā Ghul ā m Ahmad. . . The second situation would be if ‘Es ā bin Mariam as lost his status of prophethood after his ascension and thus, when he returns, he has to be reassigned this blessed status. . . ” 216 This is another one of Farhan Khan’s gross misrepresentations of Ahmadiyya Muslim beliefs. The Ahmad ī Muslims do not say that Hazrat Mirz ā Ghul ā m Ahmad as is the last prophet! The authors challenge Farhan Khan to present a single quotation of the Promised Messiah as where he has claimed to be the last prophet and has claimed finality of prophethood for himself!
