200 With Love to Muhammad sa the Kh ā tam-un-Nabiyy ī n that ‘ Ī s ā as shall appear. So, when he appears, he shall be before him [the Prophet Muhammad sa ] and after him. ” 214 It is hard to understand how the above had ī th supports Farhan Khan’s understanding. In fact, this had ī th supports the Ahmadiyya Muslim understanding. Hazrat Mirz ā Bash ī r-ud- D ī n Mahm ū d Ahmad ra explains this further when he writes: The following matters are apparent from this had ī th : 1. According to Al-Mugh ī rah bin Shu‘bah, the phrase Kh ā tam-un-Nabiyy ī n does not mean that no prophets can come after him [the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa ] 2. According to him, the words ٗ بَ]ْدَہ a َّ ‘َِبH a َ ﻻ (there is no prophet after him) are not as authentic as the phrase Kh ā tam-un-Nabiyy ī n 3. According to Al-Mugh ī rah bin Shu‘bah, there was the possibility of the coming of a prophet after the Holy Prophet sa 4. He did not believe that Hazrat ‘ Ī s ā as is alive in heaven. That is why he did not say that Hazrat ‘ Ī s ā as shall descend from heaven. Instead, he says: خَارِج a َم—َّWFا a ِ ْہiَcَ@ a ٰ ‘Wْiِ@ a َّ اَن a Hُحَدِّثُ a َّاeُD (We used to say that he shall appear on land).
