Continuation of Prophethood according to the Holy Qur’ ā n 263 All ā h has bestowed His blessings). In other words, it has been stated that whoever obeys All ā h and the Messenger sa from among you, All ā h, the Exalted, will include him in those people who were blessed by All ā h in earlier times. Im ā m R ā ghib has written, “There are four groups of those who are blessed in respect of status and piety – the prophet with the prophet, and the sidd ī q with the sidd ī q , and the shah ī d with the shah ī d , and the s ā lih with the s ā lih. And Im ā m R ā ghib has considered it possible that the prophets (of this ummah ) are also included with the prophets, just as All ā h, the Exalted, has said, “ a M[ع a Gن a و اFر:ول a و a اﷲ ” (And whoso obeys All ā h and the Messenger sa ) in the meaning of “ اeFبiiن a Gن ” (from the prophets) and from after them. 259 It is clear from this statement that Im ā m R ā ghib has said something completely in accord with the Ahmadiyya Muslim understanding. This quotation has been presented to make it clear that this commentary is not something ‘new’ that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jam ā ‘at presents. It has been done by previous scholars of Isl ā m as well. Questions for Farhan Khan: 1. Why does he think All ā h, the Exalted, stated, “ اeFبiiن a Gن ” (from among the prophets), and not, “ اeFبiiن a Gع ” (with the prophets), in 4:70? 259 Behr-ul-Muh ī t , Volume 3, Page 287
