PT. LEKHR A M’S DEATH as 520 noted that the Arabic word Khuw a r used in the original revelation also signified Pt. Lekhr a m’s violent end for it is used to denote the sound of an animal produced at the time of its being slaughtered. Pt. Lekhr a m was not at all frightened, unlike A thim. On the contrary, he persisted in his vilification of the Holy Prophet sa (See his books R a h-e-Nij a t written by July 8th, 1893; and H ujjatul Islam ). He had predicted on the authority of an alleged revelation which he pretended to have received that Ahmad as would die of cholera within three years (vide his book Takdh i b Br a h i n-e-Ahmadiyya II pp. 307, 311 and Kulliy a t A rya Mus a fir , p. 501 where he wrote that Ahmad’s as progeny would also be cut off). Like his notorious predecessor, Umar bin Hish a m (better known as Abu Jahl), Pt. Lekhr a m had also prayed to God a few years earlier (in answer to Ahmad’s as invitation published in Surma Chashm A rya ) that He should establish the truth by giving His judgment in the matter of Islam versus Hinduism by disgracing Ahmad as or himself in their respresentative capacity of being the advocates of their respective faiths (vide his book Khabt-e-Ahmadiyya pp. 344-347, published in 1888). Now the time had come for the desired Divine judgment. The clear fulfilment of Ahmad’s as prophecy regarding A thim was being most unreasonably denied and the mild treatment accorded to a meek and apologetic advocate of the Christian religion was being misrepresented not only by Christians but also
