[ARABIC ODE BY THE PROMISED MESSIAH] 951 مَا بَقِيَ فِيْهِمْ عِفَّةٌ وزَهَادَةٌ لَا ذَرَّةٌ مِّنْ عِيْشَةٍ خَشْنَاءِ در ایشان پیچ عفت و پرهیز گاری نمانده است ونه یک ذره زندگی مجاہدانہ They no longer have piety and abstinence; Nor is there the least trace of the tough life of self-discipline. مَالُوْا إِلَى الدُّنْيَا الدِّنِيَّةِ مِنْ هَوًى فَرُوا مِنَ الْبَأْسَاءِ وَ الضَّرَّاءِ سوئے دنیا که هیچ و کمینه است مائل شدند واز سختی با و گزند با گریختند Out of greed and aggrandizement they inclined towards this baser world, And fled from a life of poverty and afflictions. صَالُوْا مِنَ الْأَوْبَاشِ حِزْبَ أَرَاذِلٍ فَكَأَنَّهُمْ کمینه از او باش حمله کردند كَالخِثْيِ لِلْإِحْمَاءِ پس گیا اوشان سرگین خشک اند که برائے گرم کردن است The meanest of miscreants attacked me, As if they were dung used for heating. لَمَّا كَتَبْتُ الْكُتُبَ عِنْدَ غُلُوِّهِمْ بِبَلاغَةٍ وَ عَذُوبَةٍ وَ صَفَاءِ هرگاه کتاب با بروقت غلو ایشان نوشتم و همه آن کتاب با بلاغت و نذوبت و صفا پر بودند When-in reply to their exaggerations-I wrote books, Full of eloquence, delight, and clarity, قَالُوا قَرَأْنَا لَيْسَ قَوْلًا جَيْدًا أَوْ قَوْلُ عَارِبَةٍ مِّنَ الْأَدَبَاءِ خواندیم سخنے خوب نیست یا قول کسی است که از گروه برگزیده عرب و ادیبان است They said, 'We have read these books; they are not anything outstanding. They comprise only the sayings of an Arab littérateur!
