Fourth Friday Sennon Aug 24, 1990 such voluminous expenses of war? How would harm done to the industries in Europe and other Western countries due to the rising oil prices be rectified? How would all these losses be recouped? Seminars are being held in various countries to sort out these questions. I don't have their full details with me but whatever reports are reaching me, in bits and pieces, I am passing on to you for the sole purpose of prompting you for prayers. In a nutshell, they are planning to recover these costs from the Muslim nations for which their agreement had been secured. All expenses of this war, would be billed to and received primarily from Saudi Arabia and partly from Kuwait and the other participant nations. Saudi Arabia would be specially pressurized to become the principal contributor. The wealth of Saudi Arabia is mostly in the hands of America, so there is no question of its running away from its commitments. Secondly, as a result of the rise in oil prices, the losses sustained by the Western powers shall also be recompensed by the Muslim states and agreements to this effect have also been reached with, because this escalation in oil prices has taken place in consequence of the present conflict. One cannot say with certainty as to the exact nature of their agreements, but we have inferred it from the public speeches delivered by their scholars at various conferences, otherwise we do not have any direct proof. These statements have been published by the media to reassure their people that no harm would come to their economy, because they have secured the agreements in advance that, they will be reimbursed with the higher price of Oil that is caused by the war. In the present circumstances they cannot reduce the price, as this would then deprive the West of receiving higher price from the rest of the world. Therefore a formula has been worked out according to which, only a pre-determined Arab share of the profit out of the gross earnings would be remitted to them. As to their own profit earned from the escalation in oil prices, it would in any case accumulate in their own banks. It has also been decided that not only Kuwaiti territory shall be retrieved but the rising power of Saddam Hussein shall be destroyed by all means at their disposal. You may have heard of a new rumour that Iraq possesses not only the capability of waging a nuclear war but it also has the means of carrying out biological warfare and possesses a delivery system.
