453 DAWN Lahore, Thursday, April 15, 1999 8 outlaws among 10 killed in encounter Dawn Reporter JHANG, April 14: Ten people, including eight 'outlaws', were killed in to encounters near Chiniot and Multan on Wednesday۔In Chiniot, the Elite force killed four men who had taken refuge in a Chak 237-GB school after killing their abductee and a passenger of the Chenab Nagar۔Reports reaching here said that the bandits, whose identity could not be ascertained till the filling of this report, kidnapped Mirza Ghulam Qadir who was on his way to Ahmad Nagar by his car (LOX-6021)۔They drove him and his car towards Chiniot but were caught in the traffic muddle on the Chenab Bridge۔Mirza Ghulam Qadir, stated to be a relative of Qadiani Chief Mirza Tahir, tried to flee but the kidnappers opened fire and killed him on spot۔The bullets also hit a nearby bus and killed a passenger, Sardar Bux, and seriously injured a school teacher, Nasreen Bibi۔The outlaws then moved towards Jhang۔In the meantime, a police party led by the Chiniot DSP chased them۔Another police party led by the Jhang SSP came from the opposite side, Finding themselves besieged, the dacoits left the car and took refuge in girls primary school, holding the staff and the students hostage۔By that time a heavy contingent of police cordoned off the entire area and used teargas shells۔The bandits abandoned the school and entered an adjacent mosque۔All the staff and students reportedly remained unhurt۔The arms and ammunition recovered from the car used by the out-laws included a rocket launcher and six shells, 22 hand grenades, six time bombs and a light machine gun۔In the second incident, four alleged docoits were killed in 'encount' by the police of Mumtazabad and New Multan near
