مهل مهد they know not the Book but only can read it )2:79( يَعِدُهُمْ وَيُمَنِيْهِمْ : He holds out promises to them and raises hopes in them )4:11( الْمَنِيَّةُ : Death; intention; decree; measure مَنِيِّ يُمْنَى : A drop of seminal fluid emitted )75:38( الْقَى الشَّيْطَانُ فِي أُمْنِيَّتِهِ : Satan puts obstacles in the way of what he sought for; satanic people put some or mix something from themselves in what he read (in his revelation) (22:53). مَهَدَ ]aor. يَمْهَدُ inf. noun مَهْدًا[ and مَهَّدَ )inf. noun مَهَدَ تَمْهِيدًا : He made a place plain, even, or smooth )مَكَانًا being understood(. مَهَدَ لِنَفْسِهِ : He did it for himself; he gained or earned or sought to gain sustenance and worked for himself. مَهَدَ : He spread a bed and made it even and smooth. فَلَأَنْفُسِهِمْ يَمْهَدُوْنَ : They prepare good for their own souls )30:45( مَهَّدْتُ لَهُ تَمْهِيدًا : I equipped him with all necessary things for his progress )74:15( مِهْدٌ )and also مِهَادٌ( : A child's bed; a bed; a thing spread to lie, recline or sit upon. مَهْدٌ and مِهَادٌ are considered by some to be synonymous but some say that مِهَادٌ is more comprehensive than مَهْدٌ and it is applied to earth meaning an even or smooth expanse. Yet some say that مَهْدٌ is inf. noun and مِهَادٌ is simple substantive. الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ مَهْدًا : He Who has made the earth for you a cradle 28 Have We not made the earth a bed : أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ مِهَادًا (43:11). He shall speak to the people in the : يُكَلِّمُ النَّاسَ فِي الْمَهْدِ (78:7) یک cradle )3:47( وَلَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ : It is an evil place of rest )2: 207( فَنِعْمَ مَاهِدُوْنَ ) : الْمَاهِدُوْنَ plural of مَاهِدٌ which is act. part from مَهَدَ( : And how excellent do We prepare things; how excellently We have spread it (51:49). مَهَلَ ]aor. يَمْهَلُ inf. noun مَهْلاً and مَهَلَ فِي الْعَمَلِ مُهْلَةً : He did it or proceeded in the affair leisurely and with ease. أَمْهَلَهُ وَ مَهَّلَهُ الدَّيْنَ : He granted him delay or respite in the payment of debt. أَمْهَلَ وَ : مَهَّلَ أَوْ أَمْهَلَ فِي الْأَمْرِ He was kind or gentle to the man : مَهَّلَ الرَّجُلَ He went far in the affair. مَهْلِ الْكَافِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًا : Give time to the disbelievers; give them respite or grant them delay for a while )86:18( مُهْلٌ : Metal specially molten, copper or iron; fluid pitch; pus, purulent matter; poison (18:30;44:46). 28 761
