قدا قَدَا قر is honour, rank, strength or footing with such a one. أَنَّ لَهُمْ قَدَمَ صدق : They have a true rank of honour )10:30( قَدَمٌ : Foundation. لَهُ قَدَمٌ رَاسِخَةٌ فِي الْعِلْمِ : For him is firm foundation in knowledge. على قَدَمٍ عَظِيمٍ : On an excellent foundation فُلانٌ عَلَى قَدَمِ فُلانٍ : Such a one is the successor of such a one وَضَعَ قَدَمَةً فِي الْعَمَلِ : He began doing the work. جَعَلَ دِمَاءَ هُمْ تَحْتَ قَدَمَيْهِ : He shed their blood. اجْعَلْ رَجُلٌ قَدَمٌ وَامَرْأَةٌ قَدَمٌ وَرِجَالٌ . Overlook it, pardon him : ذَلِكَ تَحْتَ قَدَمِكَ : هُوَ ذُوْقَدَمٍ قَدَمٌ وَنِسَاءٌ قَدَمٌ : Brave man or men, woman or women. He is a courageous man. aor. يَقْدُوْ inf. noun قَدْرًا[. He was or became near. His horse went quickly. قَدَا الطَّعَامُ : The food tasted nice. أقْدَى )inf. noun اِقْدَاء( : He kept on the right way. تَقَدَّى عَلَى دَابَّتِهِ : He kept on the middle of the road on his beast. اقْتَدَى بِفُلانٍ فِي كَذَا )inf. noun اِقْتِدَاءٌ( : He imitated, copied, emulated such a one, and did what he did. فَبِهَدَاهُمُ اقْتَدِهْ : So follow their guidance. مُقْتَدُوْنَ )singular مُقْتَدٌ( : act. part. Following or followers وَإِنَّا عَلَى اثَارِهِمْ مُّقْتَدُونَ : And we are following in their footsteps )43:24(. قُدْوَةٌ and قِدْوَةٌ and قَدْرَةٌ : A pattern an exemplar; an object of بِهِ فَرَسُهُ : قَدَا imitation. قَذَفَ aor. يَقْدِقُ inf. noun قَذَفَ الْحَجَرَ وَبِالْحَجَرِ قَذْفٌ : He threw stones قذف به : He cast it namely an arrow and speech or anything. قَرَّ فِي قُلُوْبِهِمُ الرُّعْبَ : He (God) cast fear in their hearts )33:27( يُقْذَفُوْنَ مِنْ كُلِّ جَانِبٍ : They are pelted from every side )37:9( قَذَ may sometimes be rendered "he shed it", as for instance light into the heart, said of God. قَذَفَ بِالسَّهْمِ : He shot the arrow يَقْذِ بالْحَقِّ : He hurls the Truth; He utters the Truth )34:49( قَذَفَهُ وَقَذَفَ : He reproached, aspersed, upbraided, reviled, defamed him )شَتَمَهُ( ; he accused or charged him with adultery )قَذَفَ بِقَوْلِهِ (رَمَاهُ : He talked without deliberation or meditation يَقْذِفُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ : They are uttering conjectures with regard to the unseen (34:54). ]aor. يَقَرُّ and يَقِرُّ inf. noun قُرُورٌ and قَرَارٌ and قَرَّ بِالْمَكَانِ . [ قَرُّ : He or it settled, became firm, steady, fixed, or established in the place; he rested; he remained; he continued; he resided in the place. أَقَرَّهُ فِي مَكَانِهِ : He settled fixed, established him or it in his 686
