فجر فج فَجٍّ إِذْ أَوَى الْفِتْيَةُ إِلَى الْكَهْفِ : When the youngmen took refuge in the cave )18:11( فتاة : A female slave or female servant. فَتَيَاتٌ and فَتَوَاتٌ are plurals. وَلا تُكْرِهُوا فَتَيَاتِكُمْ : And do not compel your female slaves or maids (24:34). ]aor. يَفْجُّ inf. noun فَجٌ[ : He had the feet or the knees wide apart. فَجَّ رِجْلَيْهِ )aor. يَفْجُّ inf. noun فَجٌ( : He parted his legs widely. فَجَّ الْأَرْضَ : He clave the ground or earth with the plough. فَجٌ : wide road between two mountains. مِنْ كُلِّ فَجٌ عَمِيْقٍ : By every distant track )22:28( فِجَاجٌ )plural( جَعَلْنَا فِيْهَا فِجَاجًا : We have made therein wide pathways (21:32). فَجَرَ ]aor. يَفْجُرُ inf. noun فَجَرَ الشَّيْءَ فَجْرٌ : He clave the thing cut or divided it lengthwise. This is the primary signification. He clave and opened. He cut a subterranean channel for water. فَجَرَ الْمَاءَ : He opened a way or passage for water to flow forth (as also فَجَرَ الْمَاءَ with intensive signification to denote muchness or frequency of the action or its application to many objects( حَتَّى تَفْجُرَ لَنَا مِنَ الْأَرْضِ يَنْبُوْعًا : Until thou cause a spring to gush forth for us from the earth )17:91( فَجَّرْنَا فِيْهَا مِنَ الْعُيُونِ : And We have caused springs to gush forth therein )36:35( فَجَّرَ اللَّهُ الْفَجْرَ : God made manifest the dawn يُفَجِّرُوْنَهَا تَفْجِيْرًا : They made it gush forth, a forceful gushing forth )767( تَفَجَّرَ الْمَاءُ : The water flowed. يَتَفَجَّرُ مِنْهُ الْأَنْهَارُ : Streams will flow or gush forth from it )275( and الْفَجْرُ means the same. فَانْفَجَرَتْ مِنْهُ : And there gushed forth from it )261( فَجْرٌ : Dawn حَتَّى مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ : Till the rising of the dawn (97:6); day-break; the light of morning; the time of the فَجْرٌ and the Prayer of the time of فَجَرَ فَجْرٌ aor. يَفْجُرُ inf noun فُجُورٌ( : He or it declined or deviated from the truth as also أَفْجَرَ ; he erred in answering; he lied, he committed a foul deed such as swearing a false oath or lying; he departed from the way of truth; he acted immorally; he neglected the command of God; he disobeyed, synفَسَقَ and خَالَفَ and فَجَرَهُ عَصْى : He disobeyed him; he opposed him; he disbelieved (as also أَفْجَرَ syn. فَجَرَ بِهِ . كَفَرَ : He disbelieved in it لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُ . كَذَّبَ : That he may continue to do evil deeds in front of him )75:6( فَجَرَ : He 640
