غلظ غلب غَلَبَ aor. يَغْلِبُ inf. noun غَلَبٌ and غَلْبٌ and غَلَبَةٌ etc. [ غَلَبَهُ وَغَلَبَ عَلَيْهِ : He or it overcame, conquered, subdued, overpowered, mastered or surpassed him or it; he or it gained the mastery or ascendancy, prevailed or predominated over him or it or became superior in power or force or influence to him or it. غَلَبَهُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ : He forced him against his will. غَلَبَهُ الْأَمْرُ : The affair defeated or baffled him. غَلَبَ عَلَى فُلَانِ الْكَرَمُ : Generosity was or became the predominant quality of such a one. غَلَبَهُ بِالْخَوْفِ : He exceeded him in fear. غَلَبَتْ فِئَةً كَثِيرَةً : Triumphed over or overcame a large party )2:250( غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْوَتُنَا : Our wickedness overcame us )23:107( غَلَبُوْا عَلَى أَمْرِهِمْ : who won their point; who prevailed in their affair )18:22( غَلَبَةٌ : The act of overcoming, conquering, subduing; victory, conquest, ascendancy, mastery, prevalence, predominance, superiority or superior power, force or influence; success in a contest; the act of gaining or taking by force. مِنْ بَعْدِ غَلَبِهِمْ : After their being conquered )304( غَالِبٌ )act part. ): Winner; conqueror رَجُلٌ غَالِبٌ :: A man who overcomes, conquers, masters, surpasses فَلا غَالِبَ لَكُمْ : No one can conquer you )3:161( غَالِبِيْنَ And غَالِبُوْنَ )plurals 5:24 7:114( غَالِبًا أَوْ فِي الْغَالِبِ : Most probably الْاَغْلَبُ : More and most overcoming, conquering. (: One conquered, subdued, overcome. إِنِّي مَغْلُوْبٌ : I am conquered, vanquished (54:11). غَلُظَ ]aor. يَغْلُظُ and غَلَظَ aor. يَعْلُظُ and يَغْلِظُ inf. noun غلاظَةٌ and غِلْظَةٌ and غَلُظَ غُلْظَةٌ and غَلَظَ : It was or became thick, gross, big, coarse as also اِسْتَغْلَظَ الزَّرْعُ اِسْتَغْلَظَ : The seed-produce became thick, strong or well-grown and thick (cont. to دَق and رَقَّ and لان فَاسْتَغْلَظَ فَاسْتَوى : Then it becomes thick and stands firm )48:30(: غَلَظَتِ السُّنْبُلَةُ : The ear of corn produced grain.
