شح a good stock; a small speck on the chin of a boy. شخص شَحَّ ]aor. يَشَحُ and يَشُحُ and يَشِحُ inf. noun شُحٌ and شَحَّ and شِحٌ[ : He was or became niggardly, stingy or avaricious; he was or became niggardly or avaricious in the utmost degree or with a culpable desire. هُوَ يَشُحُ بِمَالِهِ أَوْ عَلَى مَالِهِ : He is niggardly of his property. شح : Niggardliness, stinginess; greed or avarice. مَنْ يُوْقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِ : Whoso is guarded against the avarice of his own-soul )59:10( اِشِحَةٌ )and also شِحَاحٌ and اَشِحَّاءُ( is the plural of شَيْحٌ . . niggardly, stingy or avaricious or vehemently greedily or culpably greedy. هُوَ شَحِيْحٌ بِشَيْءٍ أَوْ عَلَى شَيْءٍ : He is niggardly of a thing. اَشِحَّةِ عَلَى الْخَيْرِ : Being greedy for wealth )33:20( أَشِحَّةَ عَلَيْكُمْ : Being niggardly of aid to you )33:20( أَرْضُ شَحَاحٌ : Land that will not flow with water unless in consequence of much rain. شَحُمَ ]aor. يَشْحُمُ inf. noun شَحَامَةٌ[ : He was or became fat. شَحِمَ )aor. يَشْحَمُ inf. nun شَحَمٌ( : He was or became desirous of fat. شَحِمَ )aor. يَشْحَمُ and يَشْحُمُ and يَشْحِمُ inf. noun شَحِمَتِ النَّاقَةُ (شُحُوْمٌ : The she-camel became fat after leanness. شُحُوْم is the plural of شَحْمٌ which means fat; the substance of fatness. حَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ شُحُوْمَهُمَا : We forbade to them their fat )6:147( رَجُلٌ شَحِيْمٌ : A fat man. 28 شَحَنَ ]aor يَشْحَنُ inf. noun شَحَنَ السَّفِيْنَةَ شَحْنٌ : He filled (or laded) and completely equipped or furnished the ship. شَحَنَ الْمَدِينَةَ بِالْخَيْلِ : He filled the town with horsemen. شَحَنَ الرَّجُلَ : He drove away the man. شَحَنَ عَلَيْهِ أَوْ شَحِنَ عَلَيْهِ : He bore malice against him. في الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُوْنَ : In the laden and completely equipped or furnished ships (36:42). شَخَصَ ]aor. يَشْخَصُ inf. noun شَخَصَ الشَّيْءُ شُخُوْصٌ : The thing rose or became raised. شَخَصَ عَنْ قَوْمِهِ : He went forth from his people. شَخَصَ إِلَيْهِمْ : He returned to them. شَخَصَ النَّجْمُ : The star rose. شَخَصَ بَصَرَهُ بِبَصَرِهِ : He raised his eye towards the sky and did not move his eyelids. شَخَصَ بَصَرُهُ : His eyes became fixedly open. تَشْخَصُ فِيْهِ الْأَبْصَارُ : On which eyes will fixedly stare )14:43( : شَاخِصَةٌ )act. part. feminine gen. ( فَإِذَا هِيَ شَاخِصَةٌ : Then behod (the eyes( will fixedly stare (21:98). 433
