سل inhabit the house; he made him or it to be such and termed him or it مِسْكِينٌ i. e poor, lowly; he or it made it calm. still. إِنْ يَّشَأْ يُسْكِنِ الرِّيحَ : If He so wills, He can cause the wind to become still I have made to dwell some of my : إِنِّي أَسْكَنْتُ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي (42:34) سكن posterity or children )14:38( اَسْكَنَ الرَّجُلُ : The man became a أَسْكَنَهُ الْفَقْرُ مِسْكِينٌ : Poverty has rendered him motionless. مِسْكِينٌ : Lowly, humble submissive, poor; also ignominious, abject or in a state of abasement )مَسَاكِيْنُ plural( )2216( فِدْيَةٌ طَعَامُ مِسْكِيْنِ : Expiation which is the feeding of a poor man )2185( مَسْكُنُ : An abode or dwelling; a place of alighting or abiding; a house; فِي مَسْكَنِهِمْ آيَةٌ : There was a Sign in their dwelling place )34:16(. مَسَاكِنُ is plural )14:46( مَسْكَنَةٌ : The state of a مِسْكِينٌ ; lowliness, humbleness, submissiveness; also lowness, abasement; ignominy; poverty; destitution; an evil state or condition; also poverty of mind; weakness. ضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الذَّلَّةُ وَالْمَسْكَنَةُ : They were smitten with abasement and destitution )262( سَكِينَةٌ : Calmness or tranquility; staidness; a quality inspiring reverence; mercy, pity or compassion. فِيْهِ سَكِيْنَةٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّكُمْ : Wherein there will be tranquility from your Lord )2:249( سَكَنَ : Athing to which one trusts so as to become easy or quiet in mind; source or cause of tranquility, ease, quiet, mental comfort. جَعَلَ اللَّيْلَ سَكَنًا : He has appointed or made the night for rest )697( إِنَّ صَلُّوتَكَ سَكَنٌ لَّهُمْ : Thy prayer is a cause or source of tranquility for them (9:103); mercy, pity or compassion; blessing, prosperity or increase. سَاكِنٌ : Still motionless, stationary, calm وَلَوْ شَاءَ لَجَعَلَهُ سَاكِنَّا : And if He had pleased, He could have made it stationary (25:46); Inhabiting a dwelling; inhabitant or dweller ( سُكَّانُ plural( مَسْكُوْنَةٌ : Inhabited place. بُيُوتًا غَيْرَ مَسْكُوْنَةٍ : Uninhabited houses )24:30( سِكِينَ : A knife. كُلُّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِّنْهُنَّ سِكِينًا : To every one of them a knife (12:32) یک سَلَّ ]aor. يَسُلُّ inf. noun سَلَّ الشَّيْءَ مِنَ الشَّيْءِ [سَلٌ : He drew a thing out from another thing or he drew it gently; he stole the thing secretly . إِنْسَلَّ and تَسَلَّلَ مِنْ بَيْنِهِمْ : He slipped away or stole away i. e. went away secretly or clandestinely or covertly from among them. الَّذِيْنَ يَتَسَلَّلُوْنَ مِنْكُمْ لِوَاذًا : Those of you who steal away 403
