رضع 28 28 quantity. رَاضَعَهُ : He sucked with him or had him as his رَضِيعُ i. e. foster-brother. أَرْضَعَتْهُ أُمَّهُ : His mother suckled him. أَرْضَعَ الْوَلَدَ : He caused the child to be suckled. يُرْضِعْنَ أَوْلادَهُنَّ )inf. noun رَضَاعَةً( : Shall give suck to their children )2:234( فَإِنْ أَرْضَعْنَ لَكُمْ : If they give suck to the child for you )657( لَئِيْمٌ رَاضِعُ : A mean and ignoble person who sucks the teats of the she-camel so that nobody should know and ask milk of him. رَاضِعُ : A mean or niggardly person. اِسْتَرْضَعَ : He sought or engaged a wet-nurse. وَإِنْ أَرَدْتُمْ أَنْ تَسْتَرْضِعُوْا أَوْلَادَكُمْ : And if you desire to engage a wet-nurse for your children )2:234( اِسْتَرْضَعْتُ الْمَرْأَةَ وَلَدِى : I wished that the woman should suckle my child. رَضِيْع : Foster-brother. هَذَا رَفِيْقِى or هَذَا اَخِيْ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ : This is my foster-brother. وَأَخَوَاتُكُمْ مِّنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ : And your foster-sisters )4:24( رَضَاعَةٌ : Suckling. لِمَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُّتِمَّ الرَّضَاعَةَ : For those who desire to complete the suckling )2234( رَضِع : Sucking the breast of his mother; a suckling; a mean and ignoble person. لَئِيْمٌ رَاضِعُ : Mean and ignoble person who has sucked meanness from the breast of his mother; a beggar; one who eats the particles of food remaining between his teeth lest anything thereof should escape him. اَلرَّضَعُ : Meanness. رَضِيعُ also means, mean, ignoble. الرَّضِيعُ : Mean persons. مُرْضِعَةٌ )and( مُرْضِعٌ( : A mother (or other woman) suckling or one having with her a child which she suckles. مَرَاضِعُ and مُرْضِعَاتٌ are plurals. وَتَذْهَلُ كُلُّ مُرْضِعَةٍ عَمَّا أَرْضَعَتْ : Every woman giving suck shall forget her suckling )22:3( وَحَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِ الْمَرَاضِعَ : And We had already ordained that he shall refuse the wet-nurses, or We had before forbidden foster-mothers for him. The difference between مُرْضِعٌ and مُرْضِعَةٌ according to some is that, whereas مُرْضِعٌ is used when the abstract quality is meant and مُرْضِعَةٌ when the actual action is meant, . . . مُرْضِعَةٌ describes a woman in the actual act of giving suck; or مُرْضِع signifies a woman who is about to suckle but has not yet suckled or who has a child with her whom she suckles and مُرْضِعَةٌ means a woman who is actually suckling, her teat being in the mouth of her child. It is in this sense perhaps that the word مُرْضِعَةٌ has been used in )22:3(. 28 329 28 رضع
