رد oppose or contravene the will of God. تَجْرِي بِأَمْرِهِ رُخَاءً : Blowing gently by his command (38:37). ]aor. يَرُدُّ inf. noun رَةٌ and رَدَّهُ [مَرَةٌ : He made him to go back or revert; he returned, rejected, repelled or averted him or it. رَدَّهُ عَنِ الأمْرِ : He made him to turn back with gentleness from the affair or thing. يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَنْ دِيْنِكُمْ : Would turn you back from your religion )2:218( يَرُدُّوْكُمْ عَلَى اَعْقَابِكُمْ : They will cause you to turn back on your heels )3:150( رَدَّ إِلَيْهِ جَوَابًا : He returned to him an answer. رَدَّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامَ : He returned to him the salutation. رَدَّ عَلَيْهِ الشَّيْءَ : He refused to accept the thing i. e rejected it. رَدَّ عَلَيْهِ الشَّيْءَ أَوِ الْقَوْلَ : He repeated the thing or the saying. رَدَّ إِلَيْهِ الْأَمْرَ : He referred the case to him. فَرُدُّوهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَالرَّسُوْلِ : So ye refer it to Allah and His Messenger )4:60( رَدَّ الْبَابَ : He closed the door. رَدَّ السَّائِلَ : He turned back the beggar. فَرَدُّوْا أَيْدِيَهُمْ فِي أَفْوَاهِهِمْ : They turned their hands to their mouths )14:10( رَدَدَ is syn. with رَدَّ ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَا لَكُمُ الْكَرَّةَ : Then We gave you back the power against them )17:7( فَرَدَدْنَاهُ إِلَى أُمِّهِ : Then We restored (or returned) him to his mother )28:14( اِرْتَدَّ : He or it went back or reverted etc. : ارْتَدَدَ = اِرْتَدَّ .
