خلف you the very thing which I ask you not to do )11:89( يُخَالِفُوْنَ عَنْ اَمْرِهِ : Who go against His command )2464( خَالَفَ بَيْنَ رِجْلَيْهِ : He put one of his legs forward and the other backward. خَالَفَ بَيْنَ الشَّيْتَيْنِ : He put the two things on contrary sides or in contrary directions. لا قَطَّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ مِنْ خِلافٍ : I shall cut your hands and your feet on contrary or alternate sides )7:125( خلافٌ : Contrary or alternate sides; the contrary or opposite of a thing )It is inf. noun from خَالَفَ ; after behind جَاءَ خِلافَهُ : He came after him. بِمَقْعَدِهِمْ خِلافَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ : At sitting behind the Messenger of Allah )981( إِخْتَلَفَ is the cont of تَخَالَفَ . اِتَّفَقَ الْأَمْرَان : The two things were dissimilar to each other. إِخْتَلَفُوا وَتَخَالَفُوْا فِي أَمْرٍ : They disagreed in the affair or case, every one holding an opinion different from or contrary to that of another. إِخْتَلَفَ الْأَمْرُ بَيْنَهُمْ : The affair or the case was or became complicated or confused so as to be a subject of disagreement or difference between them. تَفَرَّقُوْا وَاخْتَلَفُوْا : They became divided and disagreed among themselves )3:106( فَاخْتُلِفَ فِيْهِ : And differences were created therein )11:111( اِخْتِلافٌ )inf. noun Disagreement; difference; alternation وَاخْتِلَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ : In the alternation (or difference) of night and day )2:165( لَوَجَدُوْا فِيْهِ اخْتِلَافًا كَثِيرًا : Would have found therein much disagreement )4:83( مُخْتَلِفُوْنَ ) مُخْتَلِفٌ and مُخْتَلِفِيْنَ plurals) and act. part. from شَرَابٌ مُّخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَانُهُ إِخْتَلَفَ : A drink of different colours )16:70(. الَّذِي هُمْ فِيْهِ مُخْتَلِفُوْنَ : In which they disagree or differ )784( خَلْفٌ : The location or quarter that is behind; and the time past; behind after. جَاءَ خَلْفَهُ : He came behind him, after him. لَبِتَ خَلْفَهُ : He remained after him. لَمْ يَلْحَقُوْا بِهِمْ مِّنْ خَلْفِهِمْ : Those who have not yet joined them from behind them )3171( مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيْهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ : What is before them and what is behind them )2:256(. خَلْفٌ also means, one who comes after another; one who remains after another whether this other be dead or living; one remaining after another who is dead; the follower or successor of one who has gone; persons remaining after others; a remnant of people; a generation after a generation. لِتَكُوْنَ لِمَنْ خَلْفَكَ آيَةً : So that thou mayest be a sign to those who come after thee 246 خلف
