حال it who or which surrounds destructive. وَاللَّهُ مُحِيطٌ بِالْكَافِرِينَ : And Allah encompasses the disbelievers )2:20(. عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ مُّحِيْطٍ : The punishment of a day which shall beset on every side so that there shall be no place of escape from it; punishment of a destructive day )11:85( وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمُحِيْطَةٌ بِالْكَافِرِينَ : Surely, Hell shall encompass the disbelievers (9:49). حاق : حَاقَ الْبَيْتَ حَيْقَانًا and حُيُوقًا and حَيْقًا inf. noun يَحُوْقُ and يَحِيقُ aor حَاقَ He swept the house. حَاقَ الشَّيْءَ : He rubbed and smoothed the thing حق به : It surrounded, encompassed or beset him or it; it clave to him and became his due and befell him. حَاقَ بِهِمُ الْعَذَابُ وَالْبَلاءُ : The punishment or trial befell them or beset them. وَلا يَحِيْقُ الْمَكْرُ السَّيِّءُ إِلَّا بِأَهْلِهِ : The evil plot encompasses or befalls none but the author thereof )35:44( وَحَاقَ بِهِمْ مَا كَانُوْا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِءُ وْنَ : And that at which they used to mock shall cleave to or befall or encompass them (6:11). १० حَالَ ]aor يَحُوْلُ inf. noun حَالَ الشَّيْءُ حَوْلٌ : The thing became altered or changed from one state or condition to another; it shifted from its way, manner or direction. حَالَ مِنَ الْعَهْدِ : He withdrew or receded from the agreements حَالَ الْحَوْلُ : The year passed or it became complete; حَالَ عَلَيْهِ الْحَوْلُ : He became a year old حَالَتِ الأنثى : The female did not conceive; did not become pregnant. حَالَتِ النَّخْلَةُ : The date-palm bore one year and did not bear another year حَالَ النَّهْرُ بَيْنَنَا : The streamlet intervened between us preventing conjunction. وَحَالَ بَيْنَهُمَا الْمَوْجُ : And the wave intervened or came in between them )11:44( يَحُوْلُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَقَلْبِهِ : Allah comes in between a man and his heart )8:25( حَوِلَتْ عَيْنَهُ : His eye squinted. حَالَ )plural) is أَحْوَالٌ and حَالاتٌ( : Condition; state. حالاتُ الدَّهْرِ and أَحْوَالُهُ : The changes and vicissitudes of time. حَوْلٌ : A year ) حَوْلَيْنِ is dual); a year even if it has not passed; strength, power, might or force; around; environs الَّذِي بَارَكْنَا حَوْلَهُ : The environs of which We have blessed )17:20( فَلَمَّا أَضَاءَ تْ مَا حَوْلَهُ : And when it lighted up all around him )22:18( مَتَاعًا إِلَى الْحَوْلِ : Provision for a year )2:241( حَوْلَيْنِ كَامِلَيْنِ : Two full years )2:234( لاحَوْلَ وَ لا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ : There is no strength nor 210 28
