حمـ حمل likeness of an ass carrying a load of books )62:6( أَحْمَرُ : Red حُمْرٌ )plural of حُمْرُ النَّعَمِ أَحْمَرُ : Highbred camels or excellent camels. وَالْخَيْلَ وَالْبَغَالَ وَالْحَمِيْرَ : And horses and mules and asses كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُّسْتَنْفِرَةٌ (16:9) : As if they are frightened asses (74:51). وَمِنَ الْجِبَالِ جُدَدٌ بِيْضٌ وَحُمْرٌ : And among the mountains are streaks white and red )35:28( أُرْسِلْتُ إِلَى الْأَحْمَرِ وَالْأَسْوَدِ : I have been sent to the red and the black (Tradition( الْأَحْمَرُ وَالْأَبْيَضُ : Gold and silver. حَمَلَ aor. يَحْمِلُ inf. noun حَمْلٌ and حِمْلٌ and حَمَلَهُ حَمْلانٌ : He bore or carried it or carried it away. حَمَلَ الشَّيْءَ عَلَى ظَهْرِهِ : Hebore carried And We : وَحَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ فِي الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُوْنِ the thing upon his back carried their offsprings in the laden ship )36:42( يَحْمِلُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وِزْرًا : He shall carry a heavy burden on the Day of Resurrection حَمَلَتْ حَمْلاً . The woman became pregnant : حَمَلَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ . (20:101) و شوه حَفِيَّفًا : She carries or bears a light burden )7:190( اللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَحْمِلُ كل أنثى : Allah knows what every female bears )139( حَمَلَ الْحَطَبَ : He went about spreading calumny or slander. حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَب : Woman who goes about slandering (111:5). حَمَلَهُ : He gave him a beast upon which to ride. حَمَلَهُ عَلَى الدَّابَّةِ : He carried him or mounted him upon the beast. بِهِ قَوْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهُ فَأَتَتْ : Then she brought him to her people carrying him on a beast )19:28( إِذَا مَا When they came to thee so : أَتَوْكَ لِتَحْمِلَهُمْ قُلْتَ لا أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ that thou shouldst mount them (give them beast upon which to ride), thou didst say, ' I cannot find whereon I can mount you )9:92( حَمَلَ الْغَضَبَ : He showed or manifested anger. حَمَلَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ فِي السَّيْرِ : He tasked himself or fatigued himself beyond his power in walking. حَمَلَ عَلَيْهِ فِي الْحَرْبِ : He attacked him in the fight. حَمَلَهُ عَلَى الْأَمْرِ : He incited him to do the thing. حَمَلَ بِهِ : He became responsible for him. حَمَلَتِ الشَّجَرَةُ : The tree bore or put forth its fruit. حَمَلَ الْقُرْآنَ : He committed the Holy Qur'an to memory . حَمَلَ الْعِلْمَ : He narrated and wrote down things relating to science or knowledge. حَمَلَ ظُلْمًا : He made himself chargeable with or responsible for wrong doing; or took upon himself the burden of wrong doing )20:112( حَمَلَ الْأَمَانَةَ : He took upon himself or accepted the trust; he was unfaithful to it. 203
