جد جحم 28 220 جَحُمَ ]aor. يَجْحُمُ inf. noun جُحُومٌ [ and جَحِمَ ]aor. يَجْحَمُ inf. noun جَحْمٌ and جَحُمَتِ النَّارُ [ جَحَمٌ and جَحِمَتِ النَّارُ : The fire burned; burned brightly or fiercely, blazed or flamed جَحُمَ النَّارَ aor. يَجْحُمُ( : He kindled the fire; made it to burn or burn brightly or fiercely. جَحُمَ الْعَيْنَ means, he opened the eye. جَحِيمٌ : A fire burning or blazing or flaming vehemently or having many live coals and flaming much; any great fire in a pit, a vehemently hot place. الْجَحِيمُ : One of the names of Hell or the Fire of Hell فَالْقُوْهُ فِي الْجَحِيْمِ : And cast him into the Fire )37:98( نَارٌ جَاحِمَةٌ : Fire of great heat. عَيْنٌ جَاحِمَةٌ : Eye fixed open. جد ]aor. يَجُدُّ inf. noun جَدَّ الشَّيْءَ جَدُّ : He cut it off. حَدَّثَوْبًا : He cut off a piece of cloth جَدَّ النَّخْلَ : He cut off the fruit of the palm-trees. جَدَّ الْقَوْمُ : The people became great. جَدَّ ]aor. يَجِدُّ inf. noun جدة[ : The thing was new (as though newly cut off from the web(. جَدَّ : He was or became fortunate or possessed of good fortune. جَدَّ )aor. يَجِدُّ inf. noun جَدَّ فِي عَيْنِي جَدٌ : He was or became great or of great dignity or estimation in my eye. جَدَّ يَجُدُّ and جِدَّ يَجِدُّ )inf noun جِدٌ and جَدَّ فِي الْأَمْرِ (جَدٌ : He strove, laboured or toiled; exerted himself vigorously, laboriously or took extraordinary pains. جَدَّ بِهِ الْأَمْرُ : The event afflicted him. جَدَّ التَّدْى : The breast became dry. 1) : جَدٌ( Fortune richness or good fortune; competence or sufficiency; or the state of being in no need (syn حَظِّ and لا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ بَخْتٌ : The worldly fortune of any one will not avail him against Thee; (2) means of subsistence. لِفُلانٍ فِي هَذَا الْأَمْرِ جَدٌ : For such a one in this is means of subsistence; (3) Greatness or majesty تَعَالَى جَدُّكَ : Exalted is Thy majesty; (4) a grandfather (maternal or paternal); an ancestor. جَدَّةٌ : A grandmother (maternal or paternal(. وَأَنَّهُ تَعَالَى جَدُّ رَبَّنَا : And exalted be the majesty of our Lord )724( تَعِسَ جَدُّه : He perished. جَدِيدٌ : A thing new (cont. of الْجَدِيْدَانِ قَدِيمٌ : The night and the day (because they never become old and always remain new; it also means a thing of which one has no knowledge and hence الْجَدِيدُ signifies Death; the face of surface of the earth. ءَ إِنَّا لَمَبْعُوْثُوْنَ خَلْقًا جَدِيْدًا : Shall we then be raised up as a new creation )17:50( وَمِنَ الْجِبَالِ جُدَدٌ بِيْضٌ : And among the hills 129
