ثثى ثمن or property. ثَمَنَ aor. يَأْمِنُ[ : He was or became the eighth of them or he made them, with himself, eight; he made them, they being seventy-nine, to be eighty. يَثْمُنُ ثَمُنَ or أَثْمَنَ[ : It was or became precious costly. ثَمَنٌ : The price of a thing i. e. the thing that the seller receives in return for the thing sold, whether money or a commodity; a compensation or substitute, whatever it be, for a thing (plural( )تَمِينٌ أَثْمَانٌ : High-priced very valuable or precious. وَ لَا تَشْتَرُوْا بِآيَاتِي ثَمَنًا قَلِيْلًاً : And barter not my Signs for a petty price )2:42( ثُمُنٌ : An eighth; an eighth part or portion. فَلَهُنَّ الثَّمُنُ : And for them is an eighth( )4:13( ثَمَانُونَ and ثَمَانِينَ : Eighty . فَاجْلِدُوْهُمْ ثَمَانِيْنَ جَلْدَةً : Flog them eighty stripes )245( ثَامِنٌ : Eighth وَثَامِنُهُمْ كَلْبُهُمْ : And eighth is their dog )18:23( ثَمَانِىَ and عَلَى أَنْ تَأْجُرَنِي ثَمَانِيَ حِجَجٍ . Eight : ثَمَانِيَةٌ : Provided thou serve me eight years )28:28( ثَمَانِيَةَ أَزْوَاجِ : Eight mates )6:144(. رنت 28 ثَنَى ]aor. يَشْنِي inf. noun ثَنَى الشَّيْءَ تَنْيِّ : He folded the thing or doubled it; he bent it; he turned one part of it upon another. ثَنَى زَيْدًا عَنْ حَاجَتِهِ : He turned Zaid away or back from his want or his course. ثَانِيَ عِطْفِهِ : Turning his side )22:10( ثَنَى الْأَرْضَ : He turned over the ground twice for sowing or cultivating ثنى also means, he made eleven to be twelve. ثَنَى صَدْرَهُ : He folded his breast and concealed in it enmity and hatred. أَلَا إِنَّهُمْ يَشْوْنَ صُدُورَهُمْ : Surely, they fold up their breasts or bosoms to conceal what is therein. )11:6( inf. noun )تَشْيَّة : He made it two or called it two; he repeated it. اَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ : He praised him; he spoke ill of him. ثَنَاءٌ : Praise and dispraise; eulogy and condemnation. اسْتَقْنَاهُ : He excepted it or excluded it. He said إِنْ شَاءَ الله ie if God wills it. وَلَا يَسْتَشْوْنَ : And they make no exception by saying, "If God pleases" )68:19( ثان : Doubling or folding or turning. It also means second. هَذَا ثَانِىَ هَذَا : This is the second of this ثَانِيَ اثْنَيْنِ : Second of the two. إِذْ هُمَا فِي الْغَارِ : When they were both in the cave )9:40( اِثْنَانِ and إِثْنَيْنِ and إِثْنَا and اِثْنَتَيْ and اِثْنَتَيْنِ : All mean two or the double of إِثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْرًا وَاحِدٌ : Twelve months )9:36(. وَبَعَثْنَا مِنْهُمُ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ نَقِيْبًا : And We raised among them twelve leaders )5:13( فَإِنْ كُنَّ نِسَاءً فَوْقَ اثْنَتَيْنِ : If they are all women more than two )4:12( اِثْنَانِ إِثْنَانِ = مَثْنَى i. e. two and two two and two together; or = 118
