بات بات me. (2) Mind or attention )اَعْطِنِي بَالَكَ : Give me thy attention(. (3) The whale, a great fish; (4) the spade. بَاتَ aor. يَبِيْتُ inf. noun بَيْتُ and بَيَاتٌ and بَاتَ فِي الْمَكَانِ بُيُوْتَةٌ : He stayed in the place at night; he passed the night in the place. بات يَفْعَلُ كَذَا : He passed the night doing such a thing; he entered upon the night doing such a thing; he did such a thing at night. وَالَّذِينَ يَبِيْتُوْنَ لِرَبِّهِمْ سُجَّدًا : Those who pass the night prostrating in prayer before their Lord. )25:65( بَاتَ الرَّجُ : The man remained awake all night. بَاتَ فُلاناً وَبِهِ وَعِنْدَهُ : He passed the night or entered upon the night with such a one. بَاتَ بِمَوْضَعٍ كَذَا : He became in such a place. بَيْتُ) بَاتَ يَيْتُ( : He married or took a wife. بَيَّتَ الْبَيْتَ : He constructed a house. بَيَّتَ الْاَمْرَ : He performed the thing at night; he thought and meditated upon it at night. بَيَّتَ رَأْيَهُ : He thought over or meditated upon his opinion and concealed it. اِذْ يُبَيِّتُوْنَ مَا لَا يَرْضَى مِنَ الْقَوْلِ : When they spend the night meditating upon what He will not approve of, or talk or pass the night plotting etc; )4:10( بَيَّتَ الْعَدُو : He came upon the enemy suddenly; took them by surprise; attacked them, by night or at night. لَنُبَيِّتُنَّهُ وَأَهْلَهُ : We will surely attack him and his family at night )27:50( بَيَّتَ النَّخْلَ : He trimmed the palm-trees. بَيْتُ : A house; a chamber; a tent; an apartment; a dwelling; a habitation; a pavilion; palace or mansion; a grave; the wife of a man; a man's household or family; the Ark of Noah; a verse; the nobility of the Arabs; a noble person )فُلانٌ بَيْتُ قَوْمِهِ : Such a one is the noble person of his people); the furniture of a house or tent. )بُيُوتٌ plural(. إِنَّ أَوْهَنَ الْبُيُوْتِ لَبَيْتُ الْعَنْكَبُوْتِ : Surely, the weakest of the dwellings is the dwelling of the spider (29:42). الْبَيْتُ : The House (the Ka'ba at Mecca( . عَلَى النَّاسِ حِجُّ الْبَيْتِ : Pilgrimage to the House is a duty on people. )3:98( : الْبَيْتِ الْعَتِيْقِ : The ancient House )22:34( اَلْبَيْتِ الْمَعْمُوْرِ : The frequented House )52:5( الْبَيْتَ الْحَرَامَ : The inviolable or the sacred House )5:98(. بَيْتِكَ الْمُحَرَّمِ : Thy sacred House )14:38( أَهْلُ الْبَيْتِ : People of the house (11:74); people of the House of the Holy Prophet. بَيْتُ اللهِ : The House of God (the Ka'ba( بَيْتُ الْمَالِ : The treasury. بَيَاتٌ : Coming upon the enemy by night; a sudden attack upon the ه 93
