intended or desired but did not explain it or say it plainly or clearly; he said it indirectly; iø à »  ô m»  º signifies the speaking of a thing obliquely, indirectly, obscurely, ambiguously or equivocally. According to the early authorities  ø  $  ø signifies, he used a phrase susceptible of different meanings by which the hearer understood a meaning different from that which he (the speaker) intended.  ø  $  » jö Ü » eô ä´ Ú ô à » ì ô _ » fø è ô ] Ö ßôù  ø « ð ô : Respecting that which you speak indirectly about a proposal of marriage to these women (2:236). ]ø  »  ø  ø  ø ß» ä ö (inf. noun ]ô  »  ø ]  º ) : He turned away from it, avoided, shunned or left it. Ê ö ¡ á º  ö  »  ø è º Öôù × ß $ ^  ô : Such a one is butt to men i. e. a person whom men revile or cut jokes with. ø iø r » à ø × ö ç ] Ö × # ä ø  ö  »  ø è ÷ Öôù ^ø m» Û ø ^ Þô Ó ö Ü » : And make not Allah a target or butt for your oaths or an obstacle in the fulfilment of your oaths (2:225). â F þ ³  ø ]  ö  »  ø è º Ö $ Ô ø : This is a thing prepared for thy common use.  ö  »  ø è º also means, a purpose, an object or desire.  ø ^  ô  º (act. part. from  ø  ø  ø ) : Any thing showing its breadth or side hence appearing; collection of clouds extending sideways in the horizon or a collection of clouds that comes over against one in the sky unexpectedly or comes like as does a mountain; an occurrence; a gift appearing 564      
