Imam Raghib says that ]ø Ö» Û ø à » ô Ê ø è ö is perceiving a thing by reflection and by consideration of the effect thereof upon the mind or sense (syn.  ø × ô Û ø ä ü ). According to some authorities ]ø Ö» Û ø à » ô Ê ø è ö differs from ]ø Ö» à ô ×» Ü ö inasmuch as the former concerns the thing itself which is its object, whereas the latter concerns the states or conditions or qualities thereof. The contrary of the former is ]ø » ô Þ» Ó ø ^ ö and of the latter is ]ø Ö» r ø ã » Ø ö.
