The commentary of al-Qa si dah 117 In the era of ignorance there were looters and robbers. Over minor issues battles would start and continue for months and years. However, after accepting Islam, their condition has been described in the Holy Qur’ a n as such:      They do not murder anyone whose murder has not been made lawful by the Shariah. ( al-Furq a n, 25:69 ) They used to boast and were proud of adultery and womanizing; however, after accepting Islam, they gave up these habits. Murthad al-Ghanaw i was a strong young man. He would liberate the Muslim prisoners from Mecca and take them to Medina. One time he called for a prisoner and upon hearing his voice one of the prostitutes of Mecca named ‘Un a q who had been friends with Murthad in the past came around. She greeted him and insisted he should spend the night with her. Murthad answered her, ‘ O ‘Un a q, the Prophet of All a h has outlawed adultery for us. ’ When she realized that Murthad was persistent on his refusal, she raised her voice announcing that this is the person who steals your prisoners. Murthad ran and hid in a cave of the hills of Khanzamah. Eight people went to search for him and they came close to him.
