The commentary of al-Qa si dah 49 COUPLET 4 A nation was blessed by having been able to see you, While many heard of the full moon which has captivated my heart. The question arises here that if the Holy Prophet sa is the sun of the spiritual world, then why were nations before and after his advent deprived of his light. The answer to this question is presented in this couplet by describing that the blessings of the Holy Prophet sa are for all ages. They were prevalent in the past in the sense that the prophets of past nations prophesied about his advent as All a h advised them. For example, we find that Moses prophesied in Deuteronomy 18:18 that All a h would raise a prophet from among the Ishmaelites who were the brethren of the Israelites like unto them. The prophecy stated that All a h would converse with him. Hadrat Moses was also told about the majestic station of the Holy Prophet sa and that the final and complete shariah [law] would be given to him. In response to this Hadrat Moses desired to see this great miracle of All a h and he requested All a h ۡ ۡۡ ۡ ( al- A‘r a f , 7:144) meaning, O my lord! Show me the same manifestation that will be shown to the Holy Prophet sa. All a h responded by stating that Moses as could not bear this manifestation. The
