A New Category of Testimony 275 And before him the Holy Prophet sa there was the book of Moses as a source of guidance and blessing. This, the Holy Quran, works as a testifier in a manifestly clear language to warn the people who have transgressed, and give glad tidings to those who do good deeds. (S u rah al-A h q a f; Ch. 46: V. 13) This verse connects Moses as and the Holy Prophet sa , as testifying to each other’s truth. In the same way, all the Prophets as of the past and future are interconnected, each one bearing testimony to the truth of the other. The whole import of this verse is that the Prophet sa about whose appearance Moses as had prophesied did come exactly as he had predicted, and when he came he also testified to the truth of Moses as. In the same manner, the Torah testified to the Holy Quran and the Holy Quran testified to the Torah’s truth. This works as a double bondage link between the past Prophets as and Books and the Prophets as and Books to come. In addition to this, the Quran observes that Moses as was also testified to be true in his own lifetime, by someone who bore a powerful testimony in his favour. The verse reads:
