Evidence of Prophets as in Favour of other Prophets as The category of evidence presented before is like a double-edged sword. On the one hand, the person who claims to have been spoken to by God must carry an incontrovertible proof. That proof lies in prophecies which he makes about the future. Similarly it speaks of the unknown past, that is to say, the past in relation to him. Although the knowledge of the time does not support such a claim, the claimant is proved right by the discoveries in the future as it is beyond his personal power to dominate the world of the unknown. This category of evidence is double-edged in the sense that it also serves as a proof of God’s existence. If the claimant is right, then there has to be an All-Knowing, All-Powerful God who possesses the knowledge of the past as well as of the future alike, imparting the same to the claimant. Now we turn to a new category of evidence which also works as a double-edged sword, vindicating the truth of past Prophets as and the Prophets as to come. This category of evidence is mentioned in the following verse:
