Note The essays translated in this book were first published in the daily Urdu newspaper of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community the Alfazl in three parts under the title ادمح ی ےک وہایئ اہجزوں یک رصتخم ت ی. امجع ت ش ےک زامےن یک دنچ یاددا ن ش ی ٹ پار اہکین ( Partition ke zamane ki chand yaddashten: Jama'at Ahmadiyya ke hawai jahazon ki mukhtasir kahani ) between 26 to 30 August 2010. Because of their frequency of use and for ease of reading, foreign words, Islamic terminology and terms common to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community have, for the most part, not been italicised or transliterated in the main body of the text. Anyone interested in the meaning or correct pronunciation of these words can refer to the glossary at the end of the book. Moreover, place names are used as they appear in the original essay, and in such cases where the name has changed, the modern word appears in brackets in the first instance. For example, Bombay (Mumbai).
