of Pakistan in its formative years in 1947 and for many years led the Pakistan delegation to the General Assembly of the United Nations. He was President of the 17th Session of the General Assembly and served two terms as Judge of the International Court of Justice at the Hague, of which he was Vice-President from 1958-1961 and then its President from 1970-1973. Now retired, he has written several books and has translated the Holy Quran and the Riyadhus Salihin, a book of traditions and sayings of the Holy Prophet, besides several writings of the Promised Messiah into English.
