197 CORRESPONDENCE WITH HADRAT KHAWAJAH GHULAM FARĪD بهر تکفیرم چها کوشیده اند تا مرا از قوم خود ببریده اند Ever since the people cut me off from my nation, They have made several attempts to declare me a kāfir. افتراها پیش هر کس برده اند و از خیانتها سخن پرورده اند They slandered me in front of everyone, And fabricated many a false tale about me تا مگر لغزد کسی زان افترا در ره ساده لوحی کافر انگارد مرا So that people may stumble due to these deceptions of theirs, And the naive come to consider me a kāfir. با نصاری رأی خود آمیختند ما فتنه ها انگیختند They mischievously planted hurdles upon my path, And conspired with the Christians. اینچنین کوری به دنیا کس مباد کافرم خواندند از جهل و عناد Out of ignorance and enmity, they call me a kāfir. Alas! If only there was no one so blind in the world. کین بجوشید و دوچشم شان ربود بخل و نادانی تعصب ها فزود Meanness and ignorance increased prejudice, And the fury of malice rendered them totally blind. ما مسلمانیم از فضل خدا مصطفى ما را امام و مقتدا I am a Muslim by the grace of God; Muhammad, the Chosen One, is my Imam and Leader.
