If predesigned by God, as we believe, one purpose it could and did serve was to give other forms of life a chance to develop their evolutionary potentials to the maximum limits, undeterred by dinosaurs. . The second highly essential purpose it served, but was understood much later in time, was to bury dinosaurs deep d<mark>own</mark> by the sea shore to gradually convert them to oil, which man of that age would have so direly needed.
