وَلَا تَقۡفُ مَا لَيۡسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمٌ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡبَصَرَ وَٱلۡفُؤَادَ كُلُّ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ كَانَ عَنۡهُ مَسۡـُٔولٗا

And follow not that of which thou hast no knowledge. Verily, the ear and the eye and the heart — all these shall be called to account.

وَقَالُواْ مَا هِيَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا ٱلدُّنۡيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحۡيَا وَمَا يُهۡلِكُنَآ إِلَّا ٱلدَّهۡرُ ۚ وَمَا لَهُم بِذَٰلِكَ مِنۡ عِلۡمٍ ۖ إِنۡ هُمۡ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ

And they say, ‘There is nothing but this our present life; we die and we live here; and nothing but Time destroys us.’ But they have no knowledge of that; they do but conjecture.

لَّا تُدۡرِكُهُ ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ وَهُوَ يُدۡرِكُ ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرَ ۖ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلۡخَبِيرُ

Eyes cannot reach Him but He reaches the eyes. And He is the Incomprehensible, the All-Aware.

يَعۡلَمُ مَا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيۡءٖ مِّنۡ عِلۡمِهِۦٓ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ

He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He pleases.

يَعۡلَمُ مَا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمٗا

He knows all that is before them and all that is behind them, but they cannot compass it with their knowledge.

قُلۡ هَلۡ عِندَكُم مِّنۡ عِلۡمٖ فَتُخۡرِجُوهُ لَنَآ ۖ إِن تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَإِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا تَخۡرُصُونَ

Say, ‘Have you any knowledge? Then produce it for us. You follow nothing but mere conjecture. And you do nothing but lie.’

وَقَدۡ خَلَقَكُمۡ أَطۡوَارًا

‘And He has created you in different forms and different conditions.

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَمِيعٗا مِّنۡهُ

And He has subjected to you whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth: all this is from Him.

خَلَقَ لَكُم مَّا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَمِيعٗا

Created for you all that is in the earth.

فَمِنۡهُمۡ شَقِيّٞ وَسَعِيدٞ

Then some of them will prove unfortunate and others fortunate.

۞يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ أَنتُمُ ٱلۡفُقَرَآءُ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَٱللَّهُ هُوَ ٱلۡغَنِيُّ ٱلۡحَمِيدُ

O ye men, it is you that stand in need of Allah, but Allah is He Who is Self-Sufficent, the Praiseworthy.

وَٱللَّهُ ٱلۡغَنِيُّ وَأَنتُمُ ٱلۡفُقَرَآءُ

And Allah is Self-Sufficient, and it is you that are needy.

ٱللَّهُ خَٰلِقُ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ

‘Allah alone is the Creator of all things.'

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱعۡبُدُواْ رَبَّكُمُ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكُمۡ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ

O ye men, worship your Lord Who created you and those who were before you, that you may become righteous;

ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ فِرَٰشٗا وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بِنَآءٗ وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَخۡرَجَ بِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ رِزۡقٗا لَّكُمۡ ۖ فَلَا تَجۡعَلُواْ لِلَّهِ أَندَادٗا

Who made the earth a bed for you, and the heaven a roof, and caused water to come down from the clouds and therewith brought forth fruits for your sustenance. Set not up, therefore, equals to Allah.

وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ

And I have not created the Jinn and the men but that they may worship Me.

وَٱللَّهُ أَخۡرَجَكُم مِّنۢ بُطُونِ أُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ شَيۡـٔٗا

And Allah brought you forth from the wombs of your mothers while you knew nothing.

وَلَا يَظۡلِمُ رَبُّكَ أَحَدٗا

And thy Lord does not wrong anyone.

وَوَقَىٰهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ

And He will save them from the punishment of the blazing Fire.

فَضۡلٗا مِّن رَّبِّكَ

As an act of grace from thy Lord.

سَابِقُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ مَغۡفِرَةٖ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرۡضُهَا كَعَرۡضِ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ أُعِدَّتۡ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ فَضۡلُ ٱللَّهِ يُؤۡتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلۡفَضۡلِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ

Vie with one another in seeking forgiveness from your Lord and for a Garden the value whereof is equal to the value of the heaven and the earth; it has been prepared for those who believe in Allah and His Messengers. That is Allah’s grace; He bestows it upon whomsoever He pleases, and Allah is the Lord of immense grace.

لَا يُسۡـَٔلُ عَمَّا يَفۡعَلُ وَهُمۡ يُسۡـَٔلُونَ

He cannot be questioned as to what He does, but they will be questioned.

سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ

Holy is He and exalted far above what they attribute to Him!

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَشَدُّ حُبّٗا لِّلَّهِ

But those who believe are stronger in their love for Allah.

إِنَّهُۥ لَا يَاْيۡـَٔسُ مِن رَّوۡحِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلۡقَوۡمُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ

'for none, despairs of Allah’s mercy save the unbelieving people.’

لَا تَقۡنَطُواْ مِن رَّحۡمَةِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَغۡفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا

Despair not of the mercy of Allah, surely Allah forgives all sins.

وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعۡوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ ۖ فَلۡيَسۡتَجِيبُواْ لِي وَلۡيُؤۡمِنُواْ بِي

And when My servants ask thee about Me, say: ‘I am near. I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he prays to Me. So they should hearken to Me and believe in Me.

ٱدۡعُونِيٓ أَسۡتَجِبۡ لَكُمۡ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ عَنۡ عِبَادَتِي سَيَدۡخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ

‘Pray unto Me; I will answer your prayer. But those who are too proud to worship Me will surely enter Hell, despised.’

أَمَّن يُجِيبُ ٱلۡمُضۡطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيَكۡشِفُ ٱلسُّوٓءَ

Or, Who answers the distressed person when he calls upon Him, and removes the evil.

إِنَّهُۥ رَبِّيٓ أَحۡسَنَ مَثۡوَايَ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفۡلِحُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ

He is my Lord. He has made my stay with you honourable. Verily, the wrongdoers never prosper.’

وَٱلطَّيِّبَٰتُ لِلطَّيِّبِينَ وَٱلطَّيِّبُونَ لِلطَّيِّبَٰتِ

And good things are for good men, and good men are for good things.

إِنَّا لَنَنصُرُ رُسُلَنَا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا

Most surely We help Our Messengers and those who believe, both in the present life.

أَمۡرُهُمۡ شُورَىٰ بَيۡنَهُمۡ

Whose affairs are decided by mutual consultation.

وَأَن لَّيۡسَ لِلۡإِنسَٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ

And that man will have nothing but what he strives for;

وَأَنَّ سَعۡيَهُۥ سَوۡفَ يُرَىٰ

And that his striving shall soon be seen;

وَلَا تَنَٰزَعُواْ فَتَفۡشَلُواْ وَتَذۡهَبَ رِيحُكُمۡ

And dispute not with one another, lest you falter and your power depart from you.

لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَفَكَّرُونَ

That you may reflect.

فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ

Upon this world and the next.

وَقَالُوٓاْ أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَٰمٗا وَرُفَٰتًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ خَلۡقٗا جَدِيدًا

And said, ‘What! when we are reduced to bones and broken particles, shall we really be raised up as a new creation?’

أَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ قَادِرٌ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَخۡلُقَ مِثۡلَهُمۡ

Have they not seen that Allah Who created the heavens and the earth has the power to create the like of them?

كَمَا بَدَأۡنَآ أَوَّلَ خَلۡقٖ نُّعِيدُهُۥ ۚ وَعۡدًا عَلَيۡنَآ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ

As We began the first creation, so shall We repeat it — a promise binding upon Us; We shall certainly perform it.

وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱعۡتَدَوۡاْ مِنكُمۡ فِي ٱلسَّبۡتِ فَقُلۡنَا لَهُمۡ كُونُواْ قِرَدَةً خَٰسِـِٔينَ

And surely, you have known the end of those amongst you, who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath. So We said to them: ‘Be ye apes, despised.’

فَجَعَلۡنَٰهَا نَكَٰلٗا لِّمَا بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡهَا وَمَا خَلۡفَهَا وَمَوۡعِظَةٗ لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ

Thus We made it an example to those of its time and to those who came after it, and a lesson to those who fear God.

وَحَرَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ قَرۡيَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَآ أَنَّهُمۡ لَا يَرۡجِعُونَ

And it is an inviolable law for a township which We have destroyed that they shall not return.

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فُتِحَتۡ يَأۡجُوجُ وَمَأۡجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٖ يَنسِلُونَ

It shall be so even when Gog and Magog are let loose and they shall hasten forth from every height.

قُلۡ تَعَالَوۡاْ أَتۡلُ مَا حَرَّمَ رَبُّكُمۡ عَلَيۡكُمۡ ۖ أَلَّا تُشۡرِكُواْ بِهِۦ شَيۡـٔٗا ۖ وَبِٱلۡوَٰلِدَيۡنِ إِحۡسَٰنٗا

Say, ‘Come, I will rehearse to you what your Lord has forbidden: that you associate not anything as partner with Him and that you do good to parents.

كُلٌّ إِلَيۡنَا رَٰجِعُونَ

and all will return to Us.

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فُتِحَتۡ يَأۡجُوجُ وَمَأۡجُوجُ

It shall be so even when Gog and Magog are let loose.

كُلٌّ إِلَيۡنَا رَٰجِعُونَ

and all will return to Us.

وَمَن يَعۡصِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا

And for those who disobey Allah and His Messenger there is the fire of Hell, wherein they will abide for a long, long period.

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَأَوۡاْ مَا يُوعَدُونَ فَسَيَعۡلَمُونَ مَنۡ أَضۡعَفُ نَاصِرٗا وَأَقَلُّ عَدَدٗا

They will continue to disbelieve until they see that which they are promised, and soon they will know who is weaker in helpers and fewer in numbers.

أَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ كَمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا قَبۡلَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمۡ إِلَيۡهِمۡ لَا يَرۡجِعُونَ

Have they not seen how many generations We have destroyed before them, and that they never return to them?

وَإِن كُلّٞ لَّمَّا جَمِيعٞ لَّدَيۡنَا مُحۡضَرُونَ

And all of them, gathered together, will certainly be brought before Us.

فَلَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ تَوۡصِيَةٗ وَلَآ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِمۡ يَرۡجِعُونَ

And they will not be able to make a will, nor will they return to their families.

۞وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ سُعِدُواْ فَفِي ٱلۡجَنَّةِ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا مَا دَامَتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ رَبُّكَ ۖ عَطَآءً غَيۡرَ مَجۡذُوذٖ

But as for those who will prove fortunate, they shall be in Heaven; abiding therein so long as the heavens and the earth endure, excepting what thy Lord may will — a gift that shall not be cut off.
