AL-MUZZAMMIL CH. 73 اِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَقُومُ ادْنى مِنْ ثُلُثَ Surely, thy Lord, knows that. 21 "thou standest up praying for الَّيْلِ وَنِصْفَهُ وَثُلُثَهُ وَطَائِفَةٌ مِّنَ الَّذِيْنَ nearly two-thirds of the night and sometimes half or a third مَعَكَ وَاللهُ يُقَدِّرُ الَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ عَلِمَ اَنْ thereof, and also a party of لَن تُحْصُوْهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاقْرَءُ وْا مَا those who are with thee. And Allah determines the measure of تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ عَلِمَ أَنْ سَيَكُونُ مِنْكُمْ the night and the day. He knows that you cannot keep its مَّرْضَى وَأَخَرُونَ يَضْرِبُوْنَ فِي الْأَرْضِ measure, so He has turned to you in mercy. Recite, then, as يَبْتَغُونَ مِنْ فَضْلِ اللهِ وَأَخَرُونَ much of the Quran as is easy for you. He knows that there will be يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَاقْرَءُ وَا مَا تَيَسَّرَ some among you who may be مِنْهُ * وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلوةَ وَأتُوا الزَّكُوةَ sick and others who may travel in the land seeking Allah's وَاَقْرِضُوا اللهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوا bounty, and others who may fight in the cause of Allah. So لِانْفُسِكُمْ مِنْ خَيْرِ تَجِدُوهُ عِنْدَ اللهِ هُوَ recite of it that which is easy for خَيْرًا وَأَعْظَمَ اَجْرًا وَاسْتَغْفِرُوا الله اِنَّ اللهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمة نچ you, and observe Prayer, and pay the Zakah, and lend to Allah a goodly loan. "And whatever good you send on before you for your souls, you ١٤ "26:219. 25:65; 41:39. 2:246; 57:12; 64:18. 42:211. mission and of the strong opposition and bitter persecution he was to meet with at the hands of those very people who formerly looked upon him as the most trusted and honest man in Mecca. Under the circumstances, it could hardly be imagined that one day Mecca would lay prostrate at his feet and the Quraish leaders would be begging for mercy and forgiveness. 3251 The wildest stretch of human imagination could hardly conceive of such stupendous happenings as have been foretold in the preceding verses; much less could a human being declare in such forceful terms that these prophecies would be fulfilled. The Quran is certainly a Reminder from God.
