PT. 28 AL-MUJĀDALAH CH. 58 لَا تَجِدُ قَوْمًا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ Thou wilt not find any. 23 people who believe in Allah and الْآخِرِ يُوَادُّونَ مَنْ حَدَ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ the Last Day loving those who oppose Allah and His وَلَوْ كَانُوا آبَاءَهُمْ أَوْ أَبْنَاءَهُمْ أَو Messenger, even though they be b اِخْوَانَهُمْ أَوْ عَشِيْرَتَهُمْ أُولَبِكَ كَتَبَ their fathers, or their sons or their brethren, or their kindred. فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ الْإِيْمَانَ وَأَيَّدَهُمْ بِرُوجِ These are they in whose hearts b مِّنْهُ وَيُدْخِلُهُمْ جَنَّتٍ تَجْرِى مِنْ and whom He has strengthened تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهرُ خُلِدِينَ فِيهَا رَضِيَ اللهُ And He will make them enter ރ. މ ÓTÍTHE وَرَضُوا عَنْهُ أُولَبِكَ حِزْبُ اللهِ عنهم و أَلَا إِنَّ حِزْبَ اللهِ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ Allah is well pleased with b Allah has inscribed true faith with inspiration from Himself. Gardens through which streams flow. Therein will they abide. them, and they are well pleased with Him. They are Allah's party. Commentary: Obviously, there could be no true or sincere friendship or relationship of love between the Faithful and the disbelievers. The ideals, principles, and religious beliefs of the two being poles apart and the community of interest which is the sine qua non of intimate relationship being existent, the verse requires believers not to have intimate, loving and friendship with disbelievers. The bond of belief affectionate non- transcends all other bonds even the close ties of blood. The verse seems to have a general application. But it applies specially to disbelievers who are at war with Muslims. See also a 60:10. The word, "Allah is well- pleased with them" constitute Divine certificate of honour that is bestowed upon the Faithful who prefer God and His Messengers to all worldly connections, even very near blood relationships. 3117
