CH. 58 AL-MUJĀDALAH PT. 28 يَا يُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا قِيلَ لَكُمْ تَفَسَّحُوا O ye who believe! when it is. 12 ج said to you, '‘Make room!' in your assemblies, then make room; Allah will make فِي الْمَجْلِسِ فَافْسَحُوا يَفْسَحِ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ do وَإِذَا قِيْلَ انْشُزُوا فَانْشُزُوا يَرْفَعِ اللَّهُ ample room for you. And when الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَالَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ it is said, 'Rise up! 'then rise up;a Allah will raise those who believe from among you, and those to whom knowledge is given, to degrees of rank. And Allah is Well-Aware of what you do. 4181 دَرَجُتٍ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ خَبِيرٌ يَا يُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا نَاجَيْتُمُ الرَّسُولَ O ye who believe! when. 13 فَقَدِمُوا بَيْنَ يَدَى نَجُوتُكُمْ صَدَقَةً you consult the Messenger in private, give alms before your consultation. That is better for ذلِكَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ وَأَطْهَرُ فَإِن لَّمْ تَجِدُوا you and purer. But if you find فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ not anything to give, then Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful. 4182 أَشْفَقْتُمْ أَنْ تُقَدِّمُوا بَيْنَ يَدَى Are you afraid of giving. 14 b alms before your consultation? نَجُوبِكُمْ صَدَقْتٍ فَإِذْ لَمْ تَفْعَلُوا So, when you do not do so and Allah has been merciful to you, وَ تَابَ اللهُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلوةَ then observe Prayer and pay the 4181. Commentary: "4:159; 7:177. As in the preceding verses the subject of holding an assembly was | dealt with, it was in the fitness of things that the ethics and etiquette of an assemblage should also be pointed out and this has been done in the present verse. The commandment contained in the verse is of a general nature but it may also have special application for a particular assembly in which the Holy Prophet was present. 4182. Commentary: The believers have been enjoined, in this verse, to have due regard for the precious time of the Holy Prophet and as a compensation for taking his time to spend some money in charity before going to him for consultation. 3114
